This term is a great time to join the InterAct family, it culminates in a class performance for the parents. It’s a less formal event for loved ones to witness all of the student’s hard work. All students are featured in a dynamic set of musical theatre pieces centered around a theme or storyline.

Early Actors $315

Plus a $25 Registration fee: This is a one time fee when a student first joins InterAct and does not apply to subsequent terms. It includes initial registration, an InterAct t-shirt, InterAct bag and other goodies.

Description:
The ‘Early Actors’ classes are designed for children 4 to 6 years old and is an ideal introduction to the exciting world of musical theatre. Our students learn all about story telling through the basic skills of drama, dance and singing. This helps our youngest students to develop their vocabulary, concentration and commitment, deportment and, most importantly, their confidence, all within a supportive, guided framework. Six year old children may join whichever group seems most appropriate for them, either ‘Early Actors’ or ‘Main School’.

This 90-minute class works on short musical extracts, popular themes and familiar characters, all chosen for age appropriate, easy-to-learn material. There are frequent opportunities for the children to show their newly learned skills in class and for parents. The emphasis is always that the children have fun and enjoy learning. Parents are not allowed in class, so students must be independent enough to be in a classroom without a parent.

End of Term Class Demonstration:

Main School $630

Description:
The ‘Main School’ classes are for youngsters ages 6 to 16 years and is split by age, this 3-hour class allows students to explore and develop their musical theatre skills. Incorporated into our drama, dance and singing classes is voice production, encouraging correct technique for young voices. Movement skills are further developed with emphasis on technique, with added interest including stage combat, physical theatre and mime. Acting and stagecraft skills are supplemented by audition technique, voice production and improvisation, plus design projects such as set and costume design. For a little fun and to understand more of the magical world of theatre we like to bring in, on occasion, specialists in areas such as stage make-up, lighting and sound and the world of stunt performing.

Classes are fun but challenging, aiming to stretch and inspire students, creating opportunities to perform and learn in a supportive environment. The focus of the classes is to build strong teamwork not push individual stars, to develop strength as an ensemble and theatre company.

Performance opportunities will be sought throughout the community every semester to further enhance and develop learning and performing experience.

Advanced Performing Arts Course for Older Students

Our Advanced Performing Arts course offers a challenging and supportive environment for older students who want to grow individual creativity and confidence. This course encourages students to step out of their comfort zones while being part of a caring community at InterAct Theatre School.

    Who Can Join?
    Current InterAct students aged 13 and up can enroll directly, while younger students may join by invitation only. New students can audition by video. To audition please email: info@InterActTheatreSchool.com Sign up here!

    Schedule
    Classes are held every Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

    Fees
    The cost is $20 per hour, consistent with our current term rates, totaling $40 per week, with a $25 registration fee for new students. Payment can be made as $420 per term, or in two installments of $210.
